Top Slow Songs | The Top Bands | Bands You Might Not Know | Top Songs | Monthly Best | Top Albums

1. The Beatles: Who couldn`t put the fab four at number one. In my mind they are the greatest influence in any kind of music ever. People still listen to them 40 years later. People around the world don`t know very many bands, but it almost always a given that they will know the Beatles, which makes them a given at number one. Best Song- Hey Jude

2. Led Zeppelin: The beginnings of hard rock came from this band. You can rock out to all of their albums, no matter who you are. With artists that excelled at all their instruments, it`s no wonder they were so good. They can also be credited with the most well known guitar solo of all time, do I even need to say the song? Best Song- Ramble On

3. Oasis: Since finishing my Oasis CD collection, I have found that they are my favorite band to listen to. They were once said to be the next Beatles, until they started to lose the critics. For a few years, they were by far the biggest band in the world, but have since fallen from the limelight. But still, they are my favorite band of the past 20 years, by far.

4. Foo Fighters: The frontman, Dave Grohl, may be the most talented guy in music nowadays. He used to be the drummer for Nirvana, and now leads my favorite rock band from the past twenty years. Best Song- Learn to Fly

5. Coldplay: Yet another Brit band on the list, they put out the best music by far nowadays, in the midst of rap, and poppy junk. The falsetto voice, and the catchy tunes make them a favorite among Beatles fans. Best Song- Yellow

6. Dave Matthews Band: In times when all the music sounds the same, and it is really hard to stay in the spotlight, Dave Matthews has broken the mold. They are dubbed as a jam band, and their longevity proves for their popularity. It is hard to say whether they are better live or on CD. Best Song- Crash

7. Matchbox Twenty: They started out being labeled as hicks, because Rob Thomas, the frontman, has that twang to his voice. Nobody does that anymore, since they have been popular for the past 8 years. They are favored by critics and fans alike. Best Song- Long Day

8. Santana: Everyone needs a little bit of latin music to change the pace every now and then. Guitar licks that are addictive seem to help, and he has been around for quite a long time. His last album was mediocre, but Supernatural makes up for everything. Best Song- Oyo Como Va

9. Radiohead: Seems like this list is dominated by our cousins across the Atlantic. Radiohead has a great sound, taken from Pink Floyd and the Beatles. They are ecclectic, without getting out of hand. They also put on one of the best live shows of today. Best Song- There There

10. Jimi Hendrix: He would be higher up, if he would have stuck around longer. The things he did on the guitar were never heard before. He blew people`s minds away, enough said. Best Song- Hey Joe
